Broken glass stays together
Less dangerous glass scatter around entries, counters and workstations.

Make the glass you already have harder to breach. Thick LLumar safety film helps storefront, entry and ground-floor glass hold together under impact — so a smash-and-grab takes longer and broken glass stays out of your space.
The problem
When it goes, glass scatters across your floor, your merchandise and your people — and the opening is wide enough to climb through. Replacing glass with laminated glazing is slow and expensive.
Safety film gives you a practical alternative: a retrofit applied to the glass you already have.
How safety film works
Safety film is a thick, clear polyester layer applied to the inside of existing glass. When the glass is struck, the film holds the pieces together instead of letting them scatter.
For the highest level of protection, we can add a silicone attachment system that bonds the film to the frame. Film alone holds the glass together. Film with an attachment system keeps the whole pane in place — which makes forced entry meaningfully harder.
Less dangerous glass scatter around entries, counters and workstations.
Unprotected glass may be breached in a second or two. Thick film with an attachment system can extend that to a minute or longer, which gives you response time.
Applied over existing windows and doors with minimal disruption — typically more cost-effective than laminated glass.
LLumar safety film is tested to safety-glazing, forced-entry, windstorm and blast standards, carries a manufacturer's limited warranty, and is installed by trained professionals.
Film options
LLumar SCL SR clear safety film in 2, 4, 7, 8 and 13 mil thicknesses. Protection without changing how the glass looks — about 80% visible light transmission and over 99% UV blocked on the heavier gauges. The 8 and 13 mil films are the usual specification for storefronts, entries and schools.
The safety layer plus heat and glare control. Neutral films (N1020, N1040, N1050) in 4 and 8 mil; dual-reflective (DR15, DR25) and reflective silver (R20) films in 5 and 9 mil, rejecting up to 81% of total solar energy with up to 86% glare reduction.
LLumar GCL SR anti-graffiti film in 4 and 6 mil. A sacrificial surface layer that peels away with the vandalism — so you replace the film instead of the glass.
| Film | LLumar products we install | Thickness |
|---|---|---|
| Clear safety film | SCL SR PS2 / PS4 / PS7 / PS8 / PS13 | 2 to 13 mil |
| Solar safety film — Neutral | N1020 / N1040 / N1050 SR PS4 and PS8 | 4 and 8 mil |
| Solar safety film — Dual-Reflective | DR15 / DR25 SR PS5 and PS9 | 5 and 9 mil |
| Solar safety film — Reflective | R20 SR PS5 and PS9 | 5 and 9 mil |
| Anti-graffiti film | GCL SR RPS4 / RPS6 | 4 and 6 mil |
The PS number in each LLumar product code is the film's thickness in mil. Performance data: LLumar architectural safety film specifications (LL0115NAEN). Thicker films pair with a wet-glaze silicone attachment system for forced-entry resistance.

Who it's for
Our process
We look at your glass, exposure, existing film and access — and what you need to protect against.
We match the film and attachment option to your building and budget, with a clear written quote.
Work is planned around your hours to limit disruption to staff and customers.
We inspect every panel with you before we call it finished.
Unprotected glass may be breached in one to two seconds. Thick safety film with an attachment system can extend that to a minute or longer. Results depend on the film, the glass and the attack.
No. Film does not make standard glass bullet-resistant.
Film alone helps hold broken glass together. The attachment system bonds the film to the frame so the pane is harder to push out. We'll recommend what fits your glass and risk level during the walkthrough.
Clear film is designed to keep glass looking like glass. If you also want heat or glare control, solar film changes the look — and we can show you samples.

“This team did a fast and quick job. Everyone loves the tint and especially great for the heat control from the blazing sun shining in. Everyone should have some tint on their windows. I was way better than the blinds my landlord gave me.”
